Food: Easter Baking

malted milk ball nests (recipe)
Shared holiday celebrations are one of the more difficult negotiations of married life. For the past several years, I've spent Easter with my husband's family. This year, we were with my parents and it was really fun to get reacquainted with some of our holiday traditions - specifically, Easter baking!

My mom loves to bake. She's also really into tradition and usually bakes the same treats for every holiday. In our house, Easter is all about the popcorn bunny. What's a popcorn bunny, you might ask? Why, it's a delicious combination of popcorn, marshmallows, and butter made into the shape of a rabbit!

I dyed eggs for the first time in forever - I tried a little blue and green ombre, what do you think?

We also made sugar cookies. My little second cousins thought it was hilarious when my mom "scolded" them to eat their carrots.

All in all, we had an absolutely lovely weekend. Other highlights: I tried coconut beer (delicious), got my haircut (it's super short), and found the best shampoo + conditioner of all time (more to come).

Love,
Ellen Louise

P.S. I found this article last week and thought it was an incredibly powerful message for Easter.
